About NADBU
Who we are, and what we do
Active Deafblind participants living Independently in Society
National Association of Deafblind in Uganda (NADBU) is an umbrella association of persons with Deafblindness and their families working to identify, mobilize and intervene in their lives. NADBU works to promote the visibility of persons living with deafblindness among disability categories and recognition with the legal, policy and programming areas. NADBU undertakes legal advocacy, representation, and promotes context specific interventions to better the lives of persons living with deafblindness. The future of NADBUs’ success hinges on its ability to innovate and creatively provide appropriate communication approaches to persons living with deafblindness to increase their interactive autonomy, without which the global rhetoric of “Inclusive development and leaving no one behind” automatically leaves behind persons with deafblindness.
