Who We Are

Deafblindness is a disability still unknown to most people, including professionals in the health, social and educational areas. Deafblindness is the loss of sight and hearing to the point where your communication, mobility and ability to access information are impacted. Deafblindness describes a condition that combines severe limitations in the sensorial domain (visual and hearing) in different levels (EDbN, 2006).

What is deafblindness?

Deafblindness refers to a condition where an individual experiences both a severe hearing impairment and a significant visual impairment. Simply put, it is a dual sensory loss that affects how one perceives and interacts with the world. This condition can be present from birth (congenital) or acquired later in life (acquired deafblindness).
